How Important is Breakfast?


I get the, "How important is breakfast?" question a lot so I thought I would do a blog post on how important it really is. Many people think that they can skip breakfast in order to lose weight. After all, skipping a meal counts as cutting calories, right? This is not true. When you don't eat breakfast your body is dormant from sleeping and your metabolism is slow. Here are some benefits for weight loss for eating breakfast.


1. Higher Metabolism
When you wake up in the morning your body immediately thinks that it needs something to eat. For most of us our body may feel fine without a breakfast. If you force yourself to eat a little bit of a breakfast (for those that don't feel like eating), and eat a breakfast (for those that do) it will raise your metabolism for the rest of the day. What is metabolism? Metabolism is how quickly your body consumes your food that you eat. If your body consumes it slow, then you will gain more weight from that food.
